Forest Cottage is on the edge of the Seven Sisters Country
Park, where the upper chalk contains a huge variety of fossils in many zones.
The Seven Sisters, from west to east, are: Haven Brow, Short Brow, Rough Brow,
Brass Brow, Flat Brow, Baily's Hill and Went Hill. Due to cliff erosion, an
eighth sister has now appeared between Brass Brow and Flat Brow and is called
Flagstaff Brow.
Different varieties of fossil are found in the Seaford Chalk Formation at
Birling Gap.
